Online Counselling
Anywhere in BC

I'm Taylar Dykstra, a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC #22331) with a Master's from UBC's rigorous counselling psychology program.

I offer secure video counselling to individuals, couples, and families anywhere in BC. I'd love to connect over a free 15-minute consult to see if we're a good fit.

Is online counselling right for you?

Virtual counselling may be a good fit if:

  • You are located in a rural or remote part of BC where therapist options are limited.

  • You are a digital nomad, travel often, work online, or move between communities and want continuity.

  • You prefer the comfort of your own space and are more at ease.

  • You have a little one napping or kids nearby.

  • You're a couple living in different places and want to meet together.

  • Your tea and coffee options are better than mine. ;)

How it works

  1. Book a free 15-minute consult so we can see if we're a good fit.

  2. Book your first session online.

  3. Join a secure video link from wherever you are.

Fees and insurance:

  • Individual: $150 per 50 min

  • Couples and families: $170 per 50 min (70 min sessions recommended when more than one person is present)

She has been with her me through some of the most difficult times in my life and I have grown so much working with her. If you're looking for a counsellor who is thoughtful, compassionate, and deeply present, I highly recommend her."

"I've had the best experience with Taylar. Finding someone you feel totally comfortable with that provides a safe, listening ear can be difficult, and Taylar creates that space. If you're looking for a genuinely empathetic, intelligent, and thoughtful person in your corner, Taylar is it!"

Online Q & A's

Do I need to be in BC?
You need to primarily reside in BC because that's where I'm registered to practise, but if you are away frequently, we can explore what support may look like.

Is online counselling as effective as in-person?
For many common concerns, research shows online counselling works about as well as meeting in person. If it's not the right fit for what you're working on, we can work together to find the right option.

What do I need?
A private, quiet space, a stable internet connection, and headphones if others are nearby. Many find their vehicle to be a secure "pod" when all else fails.

How is my privacy protected?
A secure platform through Colib is utilized, and if that fails, a back-up secure platform through my Psychology Today profile.
